29 Weeks

A few weeks ago, my mom mentioned paying for me to have a 4D ultrasound as a gift and I jumped on the chance!  As my pregnancy has progressed well, my doctor told me at my last appointment that I wouldn't have another ultrasound.  I wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to get to see Jackson one last time before his arrival.  My 4D ultrasound appointment was this afternoon and we filled the room with family.  My mom and dad, Eric's parents, Eric, and I were all excited to get to see Jackson.  He wasn't super cooperative and, due to his head being down, there wasn't an abundance of amniotic fluid to make the pictures super clear.  However, we were lucky enough to get to see his sweet face and watch him open and close his mouth.  We listened to his heart beat and were able to confirm that he is indeed a boy! :)  Here is one of the pictures taken where it looks like he is smiling (yes, we are hoping the Porky the Pig resemblence disappears once his is born lol!).

29 Weeks

How far along: 29 weeks and 6 days
Baby's size: a tad over 15 inches long and weighs about two and a half pounds
Maternity clothes: I’ve managed to keep wearing my jeans with the help of a rubber band, but have switched mostly to maternity tops.  I picked up a few summer maternity items this past weekend and am hoping I can make do with what I’ve bought for the next 10 weeks.
I figure by the end, I’ll be wearing nothing but shorts and t-shirts anyway!
Sleep: I’m still sleeping fairly well.  Some nights I have a little bit more trouble with getting comfortable.  I’m getting up more often to use the bathroom, but, luckily,
I usually fall back to sleep pretty quickly.
Best moment of the week: Getting to go with Eric and our
families to see Jackson today!
Movement: He is still pretty active.  Lately, I’ve noticed more of a routine with periods of activity and periods of rest.  I’m praying he follows this pattern after birth because he is more active in the morning, afternoon, and right before I go to bed.
I figure I’m not that lucky though! J
Food cravings: I honestly don’t know that I’ve been having food cravings lately.  Every once in a while, I’ll want something sweet, but don’t crave anything in particular.
Symptoms: I still battle acid reflux/indigestion regularly, but luckily Tums will knock it out pretty easily.  I’ve noticed I’m getting short of breath easier than before, which I attribute to my short torso and his getting bigger.  I’ve also noticed I get tired more easily, especially on days Eric and I are really busy.
Looking forward to: Eric’s parents, Eric, and I leave for the beach next week!
I can’t wait for this vacation!!!

Nursery Update

I was so excited for my mom and nana to be able to come down this past weekend.  It was wonderful getting to spend time with them!  Friday night, my mom, nana, Hayley, Dunn, Eric, and I went out for dinner and, on Saturday, us girls went out for lunch and then shopped.  While we were out, I finally found a chair for Jackson's room.   Thankfully, this was the last piece of furniture we needed and now I can focus on picking up the last few decorative pieces needed to complete the nursery.  Late Saturday afternoon, we returned to the house and my mom and nana started working on the curtains and throw pillows for Jackson's room.  My grandma did an amazing job of whipping those curtains out with what seemed to be miminal effort!  Mom and nana also got all three throw pillows made out of fabric I ordered to match the bedding.  I'm getting one of them monogrammed with Jackson's initials, but the other two were ready to go on the chair.  A big thanks to mom and nana for all their hard work!!  Sunday, after mom and grandma left, Eric and I picked up the chair and got it in the room.  I'm so very pleased with how it looks and so very thankful to have found an extremely comfortable chair!  Lord knows, it's likely to be put to great use!  Here are some pictures from this weekend.

27 Weeks

As always, the past few weeks have been busy and weekends continue to go by WAY too fast!  Weekend before last,  I started working on my registries and bought a bookshelf for Jackson's room.  That Sunday, Eric and I got it put together and I started filling it with children's books I already had and books that my mom and Shirley have been bought for Jackson.  As I love to read, it was exciting to get all of the books on the shelves.  I can't wait to read them to Jackson!  I'm keeping an eye out for some picture frames and toy storage bins to fill in the some of the remaining shelves.  I absolutely love how everything is coming together!  Last Friday night, Eric and I took a break from all the craziness and went on a date night to Bravo.   The food was awesome, as always, and we had wonderful time!  Saturday consisted of a vet appointment for Zoe and a birthday party for our friends' son.  In looking over our schedules for the next two months, we have something planned every weekend, between a childbirth class, showers, maternity pictures, vacations, and our anniversary.  Jackson will be here before we know it!

How far along: 27 weeks and 6 days
Baby's size: about 14 1/2 inches long and weighs almost two pounds
Maternity clothes: I’ve reached the point where I’m going to have to pick up a few more maternity items.  My jeans are starting to get a little uncomfortable, even with my handy rubber band.  Luckily, the weather has been warmer and I’m able to wear more dresses, which give my ever growing belly much needed room.
Sleep: Over the past few weeks, I’ve quickly come to realize that if I will work out, even 30 minutes a day, I sleep very well.  On the days I don’t fit a workout in, I sleep like crap and am fairly unpleasant to be around.  Therefore, I’m making my almost daily treks to the gym in order to get good sleep, saving my husband and family from a very cranky pregnant woman.
Best moment of the week:  Getting to take a break from the craziness of our lives and going on a date night with my sweet husband.
Movement: He is still very active.  Just this past week, I’ve reached the point where
you can watch my stomach and see him moving around.  It cracks me up to suddenly
see what appears to be a growth on the side of my stomach, but is actually him pushing
a limb or his head/butt outward.
Food cravings: I’m still eating my fair share of cereal, although I don’t know that cereal specifically is my craving.  I’ve moved on to wanting something sweet most evenings, which I usually satisfy by eating a bowl of cereal.
Symptoms: I still battle acid reflux/indigestion regularly, but luckily Tums will knock it out pretty easily.  Also, as Jackson is getting bigger, he has started “growing” into my ribcage (he’s partial to the right side).  With having such a short torso, I imagine this will only get more uncomfortable. J
Looking forward to:  My mom and grandma are tentatively planning to come down this weekend so we can work on the curtains and throw pillows for Jackson’s room.   Hopefully everything works out and they are able to make it!

Easter Weekend

My parents decided to come down and spend Easter weekend with Hayley, Dunn, Eric, and I.  Eric and I decided to take advantage of them and have them help us get some work done with the nursery while they were here! :)  Of course, being the great parents they are, they were happy to help.  Saturday morning, my dad and Eric put the crib together.  After they finished, they got started on painting the dresser.  As some of you may remember, this was going to be a project for my sister and I.  However, we decided to leave it to the experts, who did a wonderful job!!  While they worked on the dresser, my mom, sister, and I got all of the bedding in the crib and the rug rolled out.  The dresser stayed in the garage until last night since it took forever for the paint to dry with this rainy weather.  I was so excited to get it in the nursery!  I love how it is all coming together!  Sunday, we all went to church and then Eric and I had both of our families and some friends over for lunch.  Luckily the weather decided to cooperate and we were able to grill and enjoy being outside Sunday afternoon.  I can't thank my parents enough for their help this weekend!  Eric and I are so very blessed.  Here are some pictures of our hard work this weekend and preliminary nursery photos.

Zoe had to be in on the action too!

25 Weeks

As I've mentioned before, time is passing by so quickly with my pregnancy!  It's hard to believe I will be 26 weeks tomorrow.  I have been so blessed with a smooth pregnancy and I can't thank God enough for that!  Before Eric and I know it, we will be welcoming our sweet baby boy!  Please excuse my 25 week photo...this was taken during our "work day" Saturday, although I really can't claim to have done much "work" of my own.  We had an amazingly successful weekend with working on the nursery.  A huge thanks must go out to Eric and my dad for all of their hard work!!

25 Weeks

How far along: 25 weeks and 6 days
Baby's size: about 13 1/2 inches long and weighs about a pound and a half
Maternity clothes: I’m still wearing my jeans (with the help of a handy rubber band), but have been incorporating more maternity shirts.
Sleep: My sleep has improved some over the past two weeks.  Since I’ve always been a stomach sleeper, it has been quite an adjustment trying to get comfortable sleeping on my side.  Luckily, I have managed to find a position that is comfortable (or maybe I’ve just gotten use to it), which has greatly helped with my being able to get some sleep.
Best moment of the week: Working on the nursery Saturday and getting
to celebrate Easter with family and friends.
Movement: He is still an active little guy.  I love getting to feel his movement!
Food cravings: I would probably still say cereal.  Good thing there is a
wide variety of cereals out there!
Symptoms: I have had a little increase in acid reflex/indigestion, but nothing
a few Tums won’t help relieve.
Looking forward to: Continuing to work on the nursery.  There are a few furniture items and decorations I’ve been keeping an eye out for.  I can’t wait to get everything bought and together!
