Name Reveal!

When trying to decide on a name for Baby Moore, we really wanted it to mean something to us.  As this baby will be the first grandson for both of our parents (first grandbaby for my parents!), we decided to name him after the two most important men in our lives, Eric's dad, Jack, and my dad, Mike.  Therefore, Baby Moore is officially Jackson Michael.  We tossed around several different family names, but none of the names we came up with meant as much to us as these two.  I'm sure we will shorten Jackson in some way after he is born, but we will have to wait and see which nickname fits him best!  We are excited for him to finally have a name!

As for a nursery update, we finally got the room all painted!  I was able to find the exact color I wanted and we were able to finish it up last night.   Below are some pictures of the finished product!  The colors we will be using in the bedding and decor are green, aqua, and orange.  This week, I took some prints I ordered from Etsy to Hobby Lobby to get mats cut and frames bought.  I put them together and am really pleased with how they turned out.  Below, I also included a picture of one of the framed prints with a lamp I picked up last weekend.  This weekend, we plan on painting the dresser and getting the crib put together.  I received a notice that the bedding shipped this week and should be here tomorrow!  I'm so excited that it shipped so it will be here for us to put in the crib once it is together.  I can't wait to see how it looks!

 

 

 

 

23 Weeks

This past weekend, my sister, brother-in-law, Eric, and I went to Dallas.  It was one of the few mini-vacations we have planned before Baby Moore gets here with the next two being a beach trip at the beginning of May and camping Memorial Day weekend.  We had a blast and weren't quite ready to come home!  We ate tons of good food and shopped more than Eric and Dunn wanted, I'm sure. :)  I finally bought some maternity tops and a pair of maternity leggings, which I must say are very unattractive but amazingly comfortable!  Here are some pictures of us at breakfast Saturday morning.

Friday before leaving, I got the bedding for Baby Moore's crib ordered.  We still haven't painted the nursery yet because I'm having some trouble finding the color I want.  We are hoping to get it painted over the next two weeks because my parents are coming down Easter weekend and we would like to get the crib put together while they are here.  I also ordered fabric for throw pillows and curtains my mom and grandma plan to make.  I love getting everything bought/ordered and can't wait to put it all together!

23 Weeks

 

How far along: 23 weeks and 6 days

Baby's size: about 6 inches long (length of a green onion) and

weighs around a pound (weight of a large mango)

Maternity clothes: I finally picked up a few shirts and a pair of maternity

leggings while in Dallas.

Sleep: My sleep is very inconsistent.  Some nights, I sleep great,
but other nights, I don’t do so well.  Luckily, I'm getting enough good nights of

sleep to keep my energy up. 

Best moment of the week: Going to Dallas and getting the baby bedding and fabric ordered!

Movement: He is still pretty active.  I usually feel him more in the morning, but will feel random kicks/movement throughout the remainder of the day.

Food cravings: Cereal, cereal, and cereal.  I’m buying several boxes a week

when I get groceries because I can’t decide which one I want the most.  However, I’ve

done a pretty decent job of limiting myself to two servings a day, one in the

morning and one for “dessert” after dinner.   Trust me, it has been hard!

Symptoms: I really don’t have any symptoms to report.   I’ve been very blessed

with feeling good throughout my pregnancy!

Looking forward to: I can’t wait to get the bedroom painted so we can start putting it all together!

Halfway there!

It's so hard to believe we have already reached the halfway point!  It has passed by sooo fast!  The past two weeks have been pretty busy and we have offically begun tackling the bedroom that will become Baby Moore's nursery.  When we bought our house in September, we made our third bedroom into a temporary storage room for boxes and extra furniture, as well as all of the junk we didn't know what to do with.  A week ago Saturday, we finally got it all sorted and cleaned out.  We donated a ton of stuff to Goodwill, listed furniture on Craigslist, and filled our trash bin.  Now we can focus on getting it ready for this sweet boy! 

In planning the nursery, the one thing I have wanted to do from the start was find a dresser to paint/refinish.  My sister and I decided we would make this our project and immediately started searching for one.  I was excited to finally find the perfect dresser on Craigslist for an awesome price.  Eric and I, with some help from my brother-in-law, went and picked it up last week.  We can't wait to get started on it...I'll post before and after pictures once it is finished.  Eric and I also went and picked up his crib last week and I ordered a rug for his room.  I can't wait to get his room painted so we can start seeing it all come together!

20 Weeks

How far along: 20 weeks and 5 days

Baby's size: a banana – about 6 ½ inches long and weighs about 10 ½ ounces

Maternity clothes: Not yet, but my jeans are starting to get a little snug against my belly!

Sleep: I’ve been sleeping a lot better, for which I’m very grateful.  I still wake up about once during the night, but am usually able to get back to sleep without too much trouble. 

Best moment of the week: Finding a dresser and rug for Baby Moore's room and getting his crib bought!  Now we just have to get started on painting the nursery.

 Movement: Baby Moore has become very active over the past two weeks.  No

flutters…just full on kicks!  It is so incredible to feel him moving around.  Eric, my mom,

and my sister have now felt his kicks/movement.

Food cravings: I still don’t have any specific food cravings yet.

Symptoms: Occasional heartburn and acid reflex are really the only symptoms I’ve

 been having.  I’m still feeling pretty good!

Looking forward to: I’m really looking forward to getting started on putting the nursery together.  Eric and I plan to pick up some paint samples this week and get a color picked so

that we can get the room painted over the next few weeks.  I’m also excited

 about getting to work on the dresser!

It's a boy!

We were so excited to learn this week that we are having a little boy!  When we told our family and friends, I think the most common reaction was surprise.  Haha!  Everyone had been so certain that I was having a girl that I think it threw many to learn Baby Moore is a boy.  We are so looking forward to a future of sports, Razorback games, camping, fishing, and many more outdoor activities.  We are now working on finalizing his name, which we hope to announce soon.  Since learning we are having a boy and getting to see him, I'm so ready for this little man to have a name so we can stop calling him Baby Moore!  Last night, I went with a friend to the Rhea Lana sale in North Little Rock and went a little nuts buying clothes (everything was so dang cute!).  Although Eric and I have been picking up items over the past few weeks, they were mostly general baby things rather than anything gender-specific.  It was awesome to be able to start picking out clothes for our baby boy.  I can't wait to see our little guy in them!  I will end this post with my 18 week pregnancy stats and a big thanks to our family and friends for their support.  Eric and I are so very blessed! 

18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks and 4 days

Baby's size: a bell pepper - He measured 6 inches from head to bottom and was estimated to be about 9 ounces at our ultrasound.

 

Maternity clothes: Not yet!

Sleep: A little better.  I still wake up around 2 and it takes me a little while to fall back asleep, but I'm sleeping harder when I do sleep so I can't complain!

Best moment of the week: Eric and I went to our ultrasound this week and

got to spend a lot of time watching and learning about our baby.  It was so amazing! 

We loved finding out we are having a boy and getting to see each part

of his little body from his feet to his head.   

Movement: I have finally, without a doubt, felt him move.  He has

been pretty active over the past few days.

 

Food cravings:  I really haven't had any specific food cravings lately.

Symptoms: Other than the continued occasional acid reflux/heartburn and round ligament pains, I feel really good!  I've been very blessed.

Looking forward to:  Now that we know we are having a boy, we can get started on his nursery.  We have an idea of how we want it to be decorated and can't wait to get started on painting the bedroom and buying furniture and decor.

16 Weeks

It's amazing how quickly time is flying by with my pregnancy.  It seems like yesterday that we found out Baby Moore was on the way and now I'm four short weeks away from reaching the halfway point!  Here goes the start of my pregnancy highlights!

In going through the pictures on my camera (I am WAY behind!), I found this picture of Eric and I at Christmas, a few days after sharing the news with our families.  I thought I would go ahead and throw it on here...at this point, I was 12 weeks.

16 Weeks



How far along: 16 weeks and 4 days

Baby's size: an avocado - about 4 1/2 inches long and weighs about 3 1/2 ounces

Maternity clothes: Not yet!

Sleep:  Not so great!  All of the sudden I am very restless and wake up frequently throughout the night.  I'm guessing Baby Moore is getting me ready for his/her arrival. :)

Best moment of the week:  This would really have to be the best moment of the past few weeks, but our families, along with Eric and I, have started picking up different items for the baby.  It has been so much fun to start picking out books, bottles, diapers, receiving blankets, etc.  It will be even more fun once we know if we are having a boy or girl...then the shopping will really begin!

Movement: Not yet, but honestly, I'm at a loss on what it will feel like.  I just keep telling myself that when it happens, I will know!

Food cravings:  If anything, I would say I crave pizza.  But I don't know that I can contribute that to pregnancy.  I've always been a pizza nut!

Symptoms: I've definitely had an increase of energy over the past week, which I'm thankful for!  I occasionally have acid reflux/heartburn and have started to feel round ligament pains when I move too quickly.  Otherwise, I've been feeling pretty good!

Looking forward to:  Eric and I will be scheduling an ultrasound to find out if we are having a boy or girl within two weeks and we can't wait!!

Here we go!

Well, I have officially joined the wonderful world of blogging!  I absolutely love following my friends' blogs and thought this would be a great way to share information about my pregnancy with family and friends, particularly those who live out of town.  Here's to hoping I'm able to remain consistent with it!

The past year has been a crazy, yet wonderful, one for Eric and I.  Eric proposed last Thanksgiving and we spent the entire winter and spring planning our wedding.  A wedding that, I must say, went off without a hitch thanks to all of my mom's hard work!  After getting married in June, we took a fabulous cruise throughout the Southern Caribbean for our honeymoon.  Needless to say, if we weren't so dang close to all of our family and friends, Eric and I could happily live in several of the locations we visited.  We ended our first summer as a married couple by buying our first home. 

At the end of October, we discovered Baby Moore was on the way!  Eric and I decided to wait to share the news with family until the holidays.  We originally planned on making the announcement at Thanksgiving dinner, which was held at our new home for both of our families.  However, since I hadn't been to the doctor yet, we decided to wait to make sure everything was okay with my pregnancy.  The Sunday before Christmas, we had both Eric's parents and mine, as well as Eric's brother and my sister and brother-in-law, over for dinner.  While dinner was cooking, we gave each set of parents a present (below).  It took a few moments for everyone to realize what they were looking at, but once they had, it was pure chaos!  After lots of tears, hugging, laughing, and catching up on my pregnancy, we had an awesome night of great food (prepared, of course, by Dunn) and games.

So far, I have been blessed with a pretty smooth pregnancy.  Other than a few pesky side effects and being very tired, I have felt pretty good.  At my last appointment, I got to listen to the baby's heart beat, which was incredible!  We will be scheduling an ultrasound at my next appointment in February to find out if this sweet baby is a boy or girl.  Eric and I can't wait!!  I will do my best to periodically post pictures and pregnancy stats, but must warn you, it is unlikely I will be disciplined enough to do it weekly!  I will end this post by saying how very blessed Eric and I feel to have awesome family and friends to share this experience with.  Can't wait to see what this next year holds!
